The Concept

The composition itself follows a journey. At the bottom, the landscape represents the more chaotic state of the industry leading up to 2027: a dense traffic jam of competing technologies, assets, regulations and ideas, all moving in different directions and trying to find their place. The 2027 gateway marks the transition. As everything passes through it, the congestion begins to clear and the landscape becomes more structured and navigable. Roads separate into defined routes, connections become clearer, and the different areas of the ecosystem start to take shape.

Process

The project evolved from initial sketches and concept development into a detailed illustrated world, with elements of the artwork ultimately extending beyond the cover and into the publication itself.

I developed an imaginary atlas where key themes became physical places — from DeFi City and Stable Harbour to the Strait of Trust and the Great Sea of Adoption — all connected as part of the same journey.
Each represent different themes shaping the industry, while roads, bridges and waterways connect them into a larger visual journey.
